We are planning to move from Michigan, to Merida, next year-driving. We will sell most things, but I am wondering how I would be when we cross the border-- also are there any moving companies? Any suggestions? Serious answers only please. Thank you!

100% NO you will not be able to take the U-haul into Mexico. You can take the U-haul to the border towns and then from there you will find that it is the beginning of your headaches.

The first huge headache is finding a broker that will move the household belongings, most will not want to do and .... whatever paperwork you have already gotten from any Mexican consulates here, they will tell you that it has to be inspected through the broker and re-processed for customs paperwork and they want to charge according to the amount of stuff you are wanting to move and like I said that is if you can find a place that wants to do it.

Next, if you find someone to move your belongings it will need to be crated and sealed and then a person from Mexico that can take their truck to the U.S. will come and load and cross it and transport it down, but you are looking at around $4,000 to $5,000.

The only other option is.... to get the stuff to the border town and put it in a storage and little by little unload the storage and bring the stuff in, but even that is going to cost.

Seriously, it will be better to sell most of your belongings and purchase the furniture on the other side. Other than that, really no matter which way It is not easy, Good Luck !!!!

You will be better of shipping your goods through a freight forwarding company. They will take care of all the necessary paperwork for the Mexican government. Mexican Customs are impossible to work with. You can probably use a U-Haul to get the items to where ever you plain on leaving the US and then drop them with the forwarding company. You can also check with a Customs broker at the border, most of them also work with a Mexican broker. In order to be a Customs broker you must be licensed by the US government.

You can find a broker by going to the yellow pages or information and checking under Customs Broker.

I haven't seen any U-haul on the mexican road. I guess the best way should be to ask U-haul if they have any partner in Mexico to take your things to Merida. Good luck! Its going to be a looong trip.

If you're planning to go to Merida, Yucatan, it'll be cheaper to just fly everything to that destination. Otherwise, it'll be a costly and complex haul.

maximum all condominium companies placed a tracker on there vehicles, so as that they are going to understand you have broken the settlement you signed, it may value slightly you extra effective than the $500, as as quickly as you have broken the settlement you signed they are in a position to cost you something they like. And while you're making use of it to circulate out of state why could you desire to pay extra effective for the mileage to return it to the place you rented it?
