The pregnancy test will be accurate. The Pill doesn't contain hCG, the hormone that the tests use to detect pregnancy. You can get pregnant having sex, regardless of the method of birth control.

If this is her first month ever taking birth control, then yes, she should use a backup contraceptive. If she has been on birth control for a while now, then the odds of her pill failing by taking it 30 minutes late is highly unlikely. even if she ever misses an entire day, tell her to just take two the next day. But, as always, it's better to talk to a doctor before making any decisions.

Birth control pills will not alter the result of a test it says so in the directions of a test kit. Yes it is possible to still get pregnant while on the pill. Good Luck!

I don't know if the test would come out positive while you are on birth control, but you can get pregnant. If you suspect you are pregnant, stop taking you BC and see a doctor. Birth control can harm the baby if you are pregnant so it's best to stop ASAP! The doctor could probably do some blood tests and run an ultrasound to check for signs of pregnancy. That would be the most sure-fire thing and regardless, you need to see a doctor anyway if you are pregnant!!!

Sorry for the vagueness, but that's the best thing to do! :)

Best of luck!!!!!

Haha ... smart people. I have to remember that the next time I ask a question.

Yes you can get pregnant while on the pill. The test will come back negetive if your not pregnant, whether you are on the pill or not. Yes it does sort of mimic pregnancy being on the pill, but you are not producing hormones to cause a positive pregnancy test.

Well, I know that antibiotics cancel out the effectiveness of birth control pills. Thats how my best friend got her little baby.

If you think you might be pregnant I would make a Dr's appt and get a test done.

i'm not 100% sure how the test would come out if you took it. the best way it to wait about a month after you think you're pregnant and go to the dr. i know a girl i go to school with who got pregnant on the pill and didn't know she was pregnant til she was almost 6 months along. she kept having normal periods and didn't have morning sickness or anything. she only went to the dr. cuz she was gaining unwanted weight no matter what she ate or how much she exercised.

Home pregnancy tests detect the presence or absence of HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), which will only be in your system if you're pregnant. You don't manufacture that hormone otherwise, birth control pills or no.

Yes, no method of birth control is 100% effective against preventing pregnancy.
There is always a possibility.

The test will only come back postitve if it detects the horomones from pregnancy. It won't come back positive just because you are on the pill.
