If you are in a space capsule it would propel you no more than a heavy breath. If you were in your astronaut suite it would stink but do nothing else.

I guess I'll be the serious one.
First of all, the second you stepped into space you would fart like you've never farted in your life. There's no air pressure in space (actually that's not true, there's always little bits of stuff flying around, but for all intents and purposes it's so small you wouldn't notice). What that means for you and your intestines that DO contain air pressure is that the air in your body is going to want to escape as quickly as possible, and it will come out the easiest way possible, naturally. You wouldn't explode, the human body is pretty tough. Your blood wouldn't boil, although your spit might. That doesn't mean it will get hot, it will just evaporate. You wouldn't freeze. You might get swollen and after about 15 seconds you would pass out. If you were close enough to the sun you would get a bad burn. After they re-pressurized your body you might get "the bends," painful little nitrogen bubbles in your blood. But after you regained consciousness and got some clean underwear your friends would really have a story to tell about that time you really farted hard. Unfortunately no one would hear it since sound relies on air to carry it.

But if you farted in outta space it would rocket you in the direction of the sun... you would blow up way before impact due to the methane coming out of your butt.

first of all, no1 except u will be able to hear u fart is u r in space & not in space ship. Second, it is possible that u'll propel yourself a bit if the blow is too strong.
