What does being a construction worker, have to do with the type of women you are encountering. You said, keep choosing. I see the choice is yours. Recognize the things that repeat themselves, a certain attitude or how she treats herself and others around you both. Take more time getting to know what you need and less of what you want. That might help, go beyond physical get your mind and heart feed by a great relationship. I like being happy single, then in an unhappy relationship. Not at all. You just haven't met her. Besides, you don't find her. She will come in time. In the meantime, just enjoy your life and dont be in a hurry trying to look for her or you will end up always trying to look for the real her.
