While we feel that it would spare them the pain of watching us fade away, they kinda need that to justify your leaving them. If you take your life, they will feel guilty not helping you thru the cancer. Cancer is a horrible disease, and I pray they find a cure soon. I say explain to your family and live life the best you can to enjoy them and them to enjoy you.
If you are the stricken or just know someone, my prayers for you.

only a fool would think this a foolish question. how do you not tell them? what do you say when you are in the hospital? just here for a visit? you think they won't notice something wrong? as to the question, no, don't take your own life, i agree to spending the time left with your family, and yes, the docs could be way off base. best of luck.

you should never do somethnhing like that
you never know the cancer could be fixed or a mirical could happen ..
even if it diddnt get cured your family would want to see the most of you and you shouldnt take your life to save the heart break.
plus if som eone askes how did he die , and she said we killed him, it would sound really suss and the mother would get put in jail abd then the kids are all by them selve left to fend off bad people......

That is a very hard question to answer.
You don't know that 6 months is all there is. That is just a DR opinion.
If you give up right now, you are cheating yourself.

Honey I was told that 2 years ago ... and look, I'm still bugging people on YA!
My aunt was told that TWENTY years ago! She's still here!
I don't make decisions based on something that MIGHT happen.

I say no. Let them have those last moments. Make them as loving and fun filled as possible. They would remember them forever. It would be hard on them either way, so at least give them good memories, and let them say their goodbyes.

this is a foolish question. If you are so concerned about your family do not tell them suffer in silence. you may not die and they have been spared a load of grief
