You have a lot of questions so I'll try my best to answer them. If you are trying to get into movies and television, I'm going to tell you right now you should be living in LA or NYC. That's where you're more likely to get auditions for anything, and no, they probably won't be huge movies or shows. You need to start out small. Have you done any theatre? Have you had any formal training. Even actors have resumes. And you will have to pay an agent. And every agency is different. You're unlikely to get the same representation as Brad Pitt. You'd get auditions based on what's going on around you. Their length is really up to the people holding the audition, but they will probably be under 10 minutes. It's the waiting around that will definitely take a lot of your time. You only go to the auditions you want, but the more you go to the better your chances of actually landing a job. And don't hope for movies and tv right away, even commercials are hard to get. The material you need for an audition varies. They might have something prepared if they are casting, but it's likely you'll have to have your own material memorized. So get good at memorizing. And as to how many people, just think how popular a field entertainment is. It's a lot more competitive than ordinary work. And while the rewards might be huge, they also come to a select few. You will start small and have to work your way up. But if you really want it, you'll figure out what you have to do to succeed. And talent and good looks don't hurt. Good luck.
