It's a good question because it would seem logical that since they have had so much success why wouldn't they expand the menu and offer a wider variety of menu items?
It's proabbaly tempting for them to do it, but I thinks it's a good idea that they don't. Why? Because it's nice to know that you can be really good at something, even if it's just 1 or 2 things (burgers, fries and shakes), then simply average at a lot of things. When companies begin to take on too much, quality could suffer in all areas and then they would lose the edge they currently have.
Something I have wondered about them though is why they haven't expanded to more areas of the country. I guess they never put a lot of effort into adding the type of corporate highrollers that could take the business to the next level of success, which in my opinion would be to go to every major city with a few locations in each.
Either way though, the burgers are excellent. In fact when I went to Vegas a couple of weeks ago (from New York), it was the first time in many trips that I didn't make time to stop there. I think because a Fatburger opened up near me, even though I don't like it as much as In-N-Out, it's close enough to where I don't crave In-N-Out to the degree I used to because when I get the craving I just go to Fatburger.

Burger King has had veggie burgers for years now. They use morningstar farms brand. The last sales report I read estimated that there are two veggie burgers purchased from each burger king a day. I wish Wendy's would add one but they do have the baked potatos. There was a new place that I went to in Florida though that was awsome. It was a fast food place but sold only organic, all natural foods and had a whole vegetarian line. I think it was called Go Fresh. I ate there about 3 times in four days. So good and even my mom and sister love it and they do eat meat. The cost was the same as any other fast food place but better food and you go a lot more.

cause they want to stand out as the burger place. not like mcdonalds or all the other fast foods that are trying to make everything but they cant make it well. if your ever craving a burger most people think innout. they always are extremely busy anyway, they obviosly are doing fine with only burgers.

They are good at what they do, and they want to keep it that way. Having a short, simple menu allows them to maintain their high standards of quality.

I don't think they need to. They are just a classic burger and fries type restaurant and they do it very well.
