When the baby is drinking his/her bottle, try to slow them down from gulping it down so quickly perhaps. Your baby sounds like he's taking in air or his formula/breastmilk too quickly which causes hiccups. You try chugging a lot of liquid or eating quickly and it usually happens to us as adults too. He's okay though, don't worry!

Hi, Somehow the baby is swallowing too much air while eating. I don't know if you are nursing or bottle feeding(swallowing air is more common with bottle fed babies), but regardless of which try to keep air from entering as the baby drinks. If bottle fed, be sure the bottle is held high enough so that no air can enter the nipple and if you are nursing, make sure the baby is grasping completely around the nipple so no air enters. As the baby gets older this will not be a problem. Enjoy your little one. They grow so fast.

An immature, newborn respiratory and muscular system. It's perfectly normal. Give the baby a pacifier, the sucking motion gets rid of hiccups in babies just like it does in everyone else.

All newborns have them.
My doctor says that the hiccups do NOT bother babies as they would bother an adult, so don't worry! Everything is OK with your baby!

Did you ever notice your baby having the hiccups in utero? It is perfectly harmsless & normal. newborns have an immature respiratory system & muscular system. It's just all part of the fascinating newborn stage! :) Congrats!

Hiccups are caused when you swallow an excess amount of air.
Does your baby eat fast? Is he/she bottlefed? Those are a couple of things that can contribute to hiccups in infants.
