I was wondering how well condoms work at preventing STD's and pregnancy, when used alone without any other contraception how likely is a pregnacy? Has anyone here ever got pregnant even when they used a condom during sex?

When used correctly, 86 percent if not used with a spermicide.

The trick is, many people use them incorrectly.

And don't believe the stats posted lower. The FDA report is attached.

Practually every man will break a condom sooner or later whilein use. Also you would have to buy a good effective brand. Most of the ones you see in bathrooms are of poor quality or have been in there so long that they are not reliable.
Condums are the most effective means of preventing STDs if they are put on before beganning sexual contact.
Condums are also the most effective device if used correctly and sized right.
Accasionally some couple will in the course of fore play get careless and the woman becoems pregrant even though her partner put on a condum before intering her. This is why condums are often blamed for unwanted pregrancies.

Yes many of times. Comdoms are not the safest way to prevent getting pregnant or catching an std, sometimes they are unrelyable the best way to prevent any std's or pregnantsy is being abstinence but if you must have sex yes use a condom. just remember, most of the women who have aids used a condom, sometimes they brake sometimes they just don't work. but condoms are the 2nd to the best preventions the 1st like i said is being abstinence in other words without sex and yes it's possible especially with all the diseases going around here now like aids which is very common now protect yourself please
