I'm getting As and Bs in high school. I wish I would try harder and get all As, but does it really matter that much? I plan on going to a community college for two years and then switching to a four year college. As long as I get good grades when I go to a community college, should my high school grades really matter?

As and Bs are great! I was a C average, and that will not get you much if you are looking for assistance when paying for college! If you are able to do better, definitely try, because you may be able to get a scholarship or grant to help pay for schooling, even if it is just a community college. I think all in all you are doing well if you have all As and Bs though, but look up any scholarships you might be applying for and see if improving your grades will improve your chance of getting them.

High School grades only matter for two reasons:

1. If you will be dependent upon, or seeking to win a scholarship for college financial support;

2. And, if you have a well developed sense of self-pride and self-worth.

As to number 2, if you really don't care, then neither will others.

GPA is distinctly substantial. that isn't to assert you prefer a 4.0, considering is properly intense, yet a 2.0 isn't ideal. attempt for a three.0. you are able to possibly smash out with a 2.7, yet try for larger than that. in case you won't be able to get your GPA up intense adequate, than a community college could desire to be the next step after intense college. you ought to use the community college to spice up your GPA and get right into a school. the only element is that school is not any extra convenient than intense college, so working no longer ordinary now will repay interior the long-term. are not getting your hopes down. in case you enhance your grades, you will a minimum of get right into a state college. yet a 2.0 is properly sketchy. reliable success!!

If you studied to get the A's and B's and did the best you could then be happy with that. If you feel that you did not study enough and could have gotten a better grade, then study more. I squeaked thru high school with A's and B's by just glancing thru books, when you get to college it is an entirely new ballgame. Learn good study habits now, you are going to have to use them in college. Good luck in whatever profession you are pursuing.

YES!!! Its really important because even if you aren't going to a 4 yr. collage right away you are going to want the best grades possible! The standards are getting higher and higher. Plus if you know you could do better why not just try harder? Would it kill you, plus itcould make a big difference in the long run!

You never know what you are going to end up doing with your life. Always try your hardest at what is important to you. The really difficult part is deciding what that is.

If you want to care about yourself you should strive to be the best. Being mediocre and not trying might accidently carry over to community college. I've seen this.

Honestly.... no.

(HS teachers are throwing tomatoes at me now).

You sound like you are doing fine. Just enjoy what's left of your childhood.

I got terrible grades in high school and I always thought I was defective... I had ADD and my teachers were cruel.
Then I got into an Arts College and I now I can outshine everyone I knew in my home town... I didn't even bother with my 10 year reunion... our valedictorian became a waitress at Denny's... 'nuff said.
