FIRST, if you are talking Iraq, you are talking oil money. The current situation, the US gov' has some control (that it despises) and the gov' splits the money between areas, that ends up cutting Sunnis out... Ya, a nasty recipe for war.
SECOND, just before the war Saddam Hussein relese 30k criminals of which about 20k were hardened criminals. Um, sort of like a mafia army.
Ya, everything else pales in comparison.
Third, the US may not be able to tell the diffence as well as it should between baathists and nonbaathists.
That's probably good enough.
I'm white and I live in the US.

Thats extremely broad saying " The middle east." But, the main struggle is between Arab nations that are siding with "the west" and those that want more islamic religious roots present in their nation. Countries like Iran, Syria and the Palestiniens are also fighting agianst Israel or the Jews, mostly becuase of how their land was taken away and given to them after WW2. Its really complex, you should read a few books, you would never run out of things to read

I have a friend from the middle east (he was born here, but he visits out there and has family out there), so I guess some people must talk to people out there. They are fighting over totally political things. Essensially they fight over who should lead them. Those who are decendants of Muhammad or those who are best fit to lead. I cannot tell you who is right, but in my oppinion, and I am sorry to those who think otherwise, I think those who are best fit to lead should actually lead. Because even Muhammad admitted that he was just a man.

It all started thousands of years ago when Abraham prefered Isaac over Ishmael, as per God's instructions. Read the first half of Genesis. Its a good, easy, interesting read.

Their are fighting for many things depending on what country you're from in the middle east. They are definitely not celebrating us in the streets of Iraq

Dude, you're only going to get opinions on here, not facts. You can find facts by googling, and mind you, even then most of them are opinions.
