Mine has to be 80's-90's kiwi/aussie band Crowded House, there music really did and still does strike a real emotional cord with me, some of there songs mean so much to me like Better Be Home Soon which to me deals with not being with the ones you love and you want to be with them sooner rather than later, Fall at Your Feet which to me deals with the realisation of being able to tell one person anything at any time but I also like Sinner From there frontman Neil Finn because it feels like its a song where you realise you have made mistakes in your life-which I have and you are asking for forgiveness from the ones you love and or god...
while other songs are just good to drive too like Private Universe and How Will You Go?
anyway I have said what my favorite band is and why so I look forward to reading the answers you all submit as to who your favorite band of all time are and why you have chosen them.

My favorite is probably... Green Day. I'd been listening to them since I was 5, and I know their newish (their first album come out in '91). I love each and every one of their songs. The lyrics are amazing 98% of the time, and hilarious the last 2%.
But, if we're thinking favorite that we can relate to on en emotional level, I would say Blink 182 (that sounds rediculous, but read on), because before i moved away, and left everyone I loved behind, my cousin and I would sit for hours on my top bunk, and listen to Blink 182's album Enema Of The State. Now that I'm gone, and barely ever see anyone I used to know, I can put on Blink 182, and think back to happier days when I was with my family. Listening to them kind of transports me back home in a way.

Avenged Sevenfold is the best band ever. I know they're kinda new but of all the music I've heard they are the best. Especially their early stuff like Waking The Fallen.

For one, Neil Young and Crazy Horse,Why ? From the 60s But Neil Young is Still going strong and still performing and writhing new songs !! He never QUIT!!!!!

Venom has got to be my favorite band of all time. they are my fav. because i'm sick of all the light soft and happy sing along music, i need something more dark in my life to filter out the crap

i have to say led zeppelin man. cant beat the great voice of robert plant, jimmy page wailing on the guitar, john paul jones with his bass and keyboards, and of chourse john bonham, best drummer of all time (R.I.P)
