Yes, you can become cross-eyed because your right eye will strain more to see verses your left eye.

try some eye drops in your eye 15 Min's before you put your contacts in, I use *blink and clean*. Relax when you are trying to get that contact in, and if it does not go in in the first 3 trys...go do something else, then go back and try again. If the problem is that you can not get it into your eye, because it sticks to your finger, you just need to find the magic touch, and if you are persistent, you will. Also make sure that you don't have the contact inside out!...If it will not stay in your eye, then there may be a problem with the fit, and you should make a contact lens recheck appointment with your eye doctor, generally this is a free of charge office call, as it is the responsibility of the doctor the make sure the script is correct for you. Good luck, and don't give up!...oh about the question, can you wear one and not the other....it is not a good idea, your vision will not be right, and it will place strain on your right eye.

If these are prescription contacts you may not want to wear on and not the other. Due to the over usage of your muscles in the other eye it may worsen your vision in that eye all together. You may just need to go get a new set.

I have to wear both of mine. If one of the contacts gives me trouble, then I do not wear them at all and go back to my glasses. If you are a first time contact wearer, do not give up. It took me over one hour one day when I first started to get my contacts in, but I was persistent and did not give up. I have been wearing contacts now for over 10 years and it is now very easy for me to get the contacts in.

I did that a few times for short periods. I was able to adjust it. But understandably the prescription to one of my eyes got worse.
