Aww it is the million dollar question!~
....but I think you have taken the first step by asking yourself what you can do to better your relationship. It is my belief that, "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. ....It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres..." --- Corinthians 13:4-7
Believe in this, and always always keep the communication lines open - you will be well on your way to your 50+ wedding anniversary.

Lots of open and honest communication. A willingness to admit to being wrong and not being selfish. Respect for the other person.
