Bank of America will let you open a CD with minimum $1000.

Bank of America is everywhere, just go to https://www.bankofamerica.com to find a location near you.

I'm sure plenty other local banks will let you open with $1000, you just need to do more research. Most banks have their own websites where you can get more info.

You can get a great CD from etrade, as well as any financial advisor like Edward Jones, Ameriprise, etc. $1000 is usually the standard minimum. If you go to www.bankrate.com you can compare CD interest rates.

You should ask yourself what you are saving for, if it is retirement you may want to open a Roth IRA, you also may want to look into buying a mutual fund instead of a CD for better interes and less risk than the stock market.

If you really want a CD, I'd start at bankrate to find the good rates, then just call local banks and see how they compare.
