I'm with you, brother!
Because it's the only anime on regular TV right now that all the teeny-boppers are following. Their parents won't let them fill the Netflix queue with GOOD anime like Cowboy Bebop, Samurai 7, Last Exile, Hellsing, Elfen Lied, Haibane Renmei, or Kiddy Grade.
Come on, if you're really into anime, start watching something besides what's fed to you on Cartoon Network! Jeez!

Because it's mostly children posting under the "Cartoons and Animation" section, and Poke'mon died (well, it's still around but if you watch it now you should seriously have the crap beaten out of you) so all the kiddies have to have something to squeel about. That's all narrow minded children ever want to watch: generic cartoons about so-and-so who likes whats-her-face and is in conflict with whoever the hell and makes stupid jokes and silly faces. I mean, a good example of the fact that it's mostly kids who are vomiting this Naruto crap all over the place are the comments to your questions stating such imbecile phrases as "Naruto is like totally the coolest ever!"

because NARUTO is the most popular and widely-aired anime today (considering how many countries are airing it right now and how many sites were created for it) and perhaps the most famous and most popular anime ever.
