In order to sleep,your mind must be as relaxed as your body so it's extremely important to not think about anything when you get into bed and even when you're getting ready for bed.Exceptions are very repetitive memories like counting sheep which bore you to sleep..However when you first wake up in the morning,that's a totally different story.On the mornings that you don't have to jump out of bed to go somewhere,just lie there and in a very slow and relaxed manner,review any problems you're having or decisions you need to make.When you first wake up in the morning you are in a light state of hypnosis which is part of the normal sleep cycle, and this will make you more aware of the creative thoughts in your subconscious mind and therefore make it likely that you will think of some valuable ideas,decisions and solutions to current problems.

Usually, 2 things. 1: I'll put myself on a deserted island with no inhabitants. I'll start to build a hut out of bamboo up in a couple of trees. By the time I've tied together the main supports and started the floor I'm, I'm....zzzzzzzzzzz.
2: I live in the country, with 3 major highways coming to it. One is from the south, one from the north and one from the east. I pretend, in my mind, that we're being invaded by an mechanized army convoy. I try to picture the best scenario to stop their advance, like dropping trees across roads, where to place explosives and mortars, where to set up ambush sites.
Usually I can fall asleep before the 1st shots are even, even zzzzzzzz.
