After you toss them in the air at graduation, do you just leave them on the ground?

Or do you spend the rest of the day looking for yours if you wrote your name on the washing guidelines tag?

I'm pretty broke, so you can bet I would kick *** to get a refund on the hat I bought at Goodwill.

You retrieve it, like I would

If I was ever going to wear it again, as in academic procession, I would never throw it up in the air. Chances of finding your own are slim to none. Most of them now are just cheapies that everyone just buys, so no one cares. The "hat" is called a mortar board.

i graduated this past summer, and the best way seemed to be to first take off the tassel (which is the most important part, and a keepsake!) and then throw your hat as straight up as you can, so that you will get it back if everything goes as planned!
have fun at your graduation, and CONGRATS! :)

actually youre supposed to throw it up in the air and catch it but... yeah if you dont then you either have to leave it on the ground or if you want to keep it pick it up if you had something like a nametag in it

You throw it, then there's a mad dash to get your hat. It's quite fun actually. Your school might be different, but that's how we do it.

Put a parachute on it so it lands last, then you can see it.
