"percent" mean "per hundred", so 100 percent means 100 of 100. 50% means 50 of 100.

100 % in math. In dealing with a math problem it could mean that you have considered all the data necessary. As a test score, it means you have answered correctly each and every problem.

Good luck.

'One hundred' is pretty self-explanatory; per means 'for' or 'for every'; cent is the Latin prefix meaning 'hundred'. So 100% means 'one hundred for every one hundred'; had it been a different number, ie. 67%, the explanation is sixty-seven for every one hundred.
