I am wanting to weld windmill blades on the head of an alternator and I want to know if I can harness the wind and will a alternator be enough to charge batteries?

attach a voltmeter to it and spin it steadily for a minute...count the revolutions and look to see how much voltage it constantly puts out...then do the math
