Feeling very nervous about my exam.
Will Mum be allowed in with me.? Really want her next to me.
Also will i be covered up ? will there be a sheet over me ?
Is it going to hurt ? please help me. scared

Yes, Mum can go in with you as long as it is okay with you. The patient has the say if they want somebody else in the exam room with them.

You'll be just fine, and I'm sure your mom can come. You will be covered from the waste up, and only a sheet over your bottom half. Dont worry, it doesn't hurt, just a little uncomfortable for maybe 30 seconds. Best thing is, it will be done before you know it! If you're really nervous, ask the Dr. to use the smaller speculum on you. They have them!

Yes, your Mother should be permitted in with you if you ask for her.
She can stand by you and talk to you during the procedure.
You will have a sheet over you and they only lift it during the exam.
You will have to put your feet in what is called gyno stirrups. Doesn't hurt, just looks funny.
The best thing for you to do is relax. Take in deep breaths and blow out during the procedure. If your body is relaxed, it should not hurt. IF you are all tense, it may be uncomfortable but mainly what you feel will be pressure, not pain.
If you experience pain, ask them to stop and let you relax more.
The whole procedure will not take more than a couple minutes.

hurt i think is the wrong word. it will b uncomfortable and unless u have a really good gyno the thing they put in u to take the swab test will probably b cold. there is absolutely nothing fun or comfortable about a gyn exam,but it is something u must do at least once a year to make sure u have nothing wrong with u. hopefully ur dr is nice and knows exactly how to treat new girls that have never had an exam before. good luck honey and remember that it is really a necessary evil that all women of good health must go through. good luck and happy holidays

aww dont worry. i had my first one not too long ago because i waited forever. your mom should be able to if you want her there. most doctors dont have problems with that sort of thing.
you will go in, she will ask you to take your your clothes off after she leaves the room, and then put this weird like hospitalgown-ish thing on. the back will be open and then you will have another flat piece that is really big to cover your lap. she will come in and talk with you and seriously if you just relax its really really easy. weird? yes. its kind of like someone else putting in a tampon for you. but it wont hurt i swear. you just cant tighten up. She'll do it very quickly and then you will be out of there.

Yes you can bring her in with you. You will be covered up with a sheet. The doc will expose one small area of your body at a time to examine it. I am assuming you are a virgin. Advise the doc of this and he will use a small sized speculum. It should not hurt, you might feel a little pressure though

Calm down, u will have to go in a room and put a white gown on and then go in the doc's office. U will be covered up with the gown. The doc will just check u out all over , and they may draw blood from ya.
Just relax and let them do their job. Your Ma can come in with u if u like.

Don't worry ,,,,it's really nothing....except being kind a naked...but it's a lot better than having your teeth drilled.... Just try to get your mind of what they are doing and think about the places you want to go this summer.... It always helps..

ask the nurse, they will more than likely let her be with you. it doesn't hurt and they will cover you with a sheet. don't worry about it, it will be over before you know it.

I'm sure your mother will be able to be there if you really want her to be.. and yes they do cover you up.. if it's a pap test you are getting it's not painful.. just a bit awkward.. no worries.. you will be fine.. it only takes about 5 minutes. :)
