The anime is over, with a total of 167 episodes. I've heard that they finished dubbing it in english, and have showed the final episode on Adult Swim already. If not, they're going to soon.
The manga (comic) version, though, is still being written - they're continuing the storyline, so the manga will most definitely have an ending that is completely different from the anime. No word on how many more volumes there will be until the end, but I expect there won't be many more.

I'm pretty sure its over. FYI the movies weren't Takahashi's. They were made by different people. Anyways, there are a lot of other animes/manga's out there that are really good. Try a new one. You might find something else to watch/read.
