First of all, are you from a state in the south? If so your going to need a coach from the get go. If not, then you might be in luck. I'm a pageant girl and i was raised in pageant household. There are several books out there that explain pageantry. It is surviaval of the fittest at its finest. You have to be dedicated to eating right, working out, getting sleeping, talk like a queen and act like a queen at all times. This is the only way that it will be natural. Pilates is great because it will trim you up. Since your 18 i'm sure you'll be going to some sort of college so go the the recreation center. Sometimes you can get into classes for free. It is very expensive dresses, swimsuit the whole bit. Where heels and often. They need to be natural as walking bare foot. I've been wearing heels since i was in 4th grade i'm talking 5 inch heels you might get some clearance ones for practice after prom season at a prom store. Good luck

Don't wait to participate until then....start now. Compete in smaller productions to gain knowledge of the pageant world. I imagine you want to compete in a talent pageant like Miss America....even though talent is important.....public speaking and community service are usually the main factors to winning a Miss America prelim. Good luck

bypass and touch the organizers and ask for video clips of previous contests and learn them to get an thought of what's going to be in contact and the clothing and how many variations of clothing which you will choose. on the comparable time hear to who the sponsors of those shows have been and then touch them. in the event that they have backed contestants in the past then they might have a greater thought of ways lots you will choose. stable success. i'm hoping you win. save determining.

I not much fan but i'd guess keep yourself in shape, work on the 'skills' and on your social graces.

Personally I think pagents are hypocritical but winning them does open doors so I guess if you got it, go for it.

(In Canada we kicked our miss canada out one year for punching out another girl.)
