looking for something kinda of designer... leather, normal sized laptop, 800-1200 dollar range... dosen't have to be the designer i listed above. a bag that doesn't scream 'nylon computer bag that the I.T. guy gave me...'

That bag from ebags is really nice. I like it as a computer bag for a woman very much.
If you can use a coupon, there are some from http://www.24houredeals.com/ebags-coupons-138-mer.html but Jack Georges bags are exempt from most of them. The free shipping one works and is not exempt.

Check out the Louis Vuitton "Babylone". It is perfect-sized for a laptop, and it has a top zip. Also has inner zip pocket for a wallet and/or a cell phone and other accessories. You can get it from eluxury.com if you don't want to go to LV in person.

THis is personal pereference. It really does depend upon the woman for whom you are buying the bag.
personaly I prefer Coach bags. Of course all high end bags are lifetime guarenteed, so if a zipper breaks or something comes unraveled, it can always be fixed. The coach multipurpose bags are great, I have 2. They double as diaperbags, but they do have your standard breifcase/ laptop bags as well.

they are all good, Luis Vuitton doesn't have too many designs.
Gucci is OK, and Coach is really colorful and pretty! :)
