My uncle gave it to me for my birthday and he said he thinks it is real. Some of my friends looked at it and said it was. But then I checked on the Internet--like ebay and the website (they have like different ones)--and it has differences like a random ribbon on the stiching across the top.
On a side note, I got another Coach bag from one of my friends and I know it's a fake cause of the straps. However most of it is really nice material (soft leather on the bottom and on some of the patchwork) and it's pretty nice. Is it ethical to carry it around if it's a fake?

My uncle got it at some Coach place in Thailand. I assume he paid a lot. I just don't know if Thailand has the real thing. Yes, there's the stamp inside but can't that be replicated?

How much did your uncle pay for it? Does it look like some of the styles on their site?
My Coach bag has an authenticity label in it like "This is a Coach bag blah blah blah..." does yours?
As for whether it's ethical or not plenty of people carry knock-offs. I wouldn't personally but your situation is kinda awkward since it's a gift. Try to figure out if it's real or not and if it's not real then I wouldn't bother carrying it around.
Ask your uncle where he bought it. I don't get how he wouldn't know if it's real or not. Mine cost $300 and i got it from a luxury store... I know it's real. Did he pay like $20 for it at some kiosk? then it's fake.

i would say it depends on what it looks like and if you like it.
i used to have a fake coach purse that i really liked, but since i got two real ones i dont use it, i would rather have the real thing.
but if you dont care about name brands, or what other people think than go ahead and use it.
...hot and nice... i have a real one, i got from the coach store, and it doesnt have a stamp on the inside.

ahh ethical? sweetie, you are not bringing controversy into the world by carrying around a purse you think is fake. who care's if it's fake. if you like it wear it. just don't go around acting like you're purse is the real thing. admit that it's fake. people will think it's more okay if you acknowledge the fact that you know your purse is fake. for me however, i wouldn't spend a dime on a fake purse. i would rather spend $50 on a different purse than an imitation coach purse.

Do you have a picture of it? Well I have a fake bag that I bought and knew it was fake, but I love it because then I don't have to worry about getting it dirty or something. Your probably just selfconcious because I'm sure noone else knows it's fake but you. Flaunt it girl, just keep people away from the inside that's what usually gives it away.

Who cares if its fake! I carry purses that are cute and in fashion. I suggest you wear the purse and make it seem real. (At least). It doesn't matter if its fake or real, as long as you like it.

If you like it then carry it. Theres so many different designers that have some characteristics of clothes, purses,shoes,ect. Match that bag with an outfit of yours and work it!
