This is a question my boyfriend asked me to post:
When we first met, he was pretty scrawny, had scruffy medium-brown hair, and wore tight black jeans with black tee-shirt and flannel shirt over it. He smoked and had sort of bad skin.
When we moved in together, he wanted a change of image, so he started working out and lifting weights. He put blond streaks through his hair, grew a goatee which is neatly trimmed and with some stubble on cheeks. Now he wears normal blue jeans with checked shirts and elastic-sided boots. He gave up smoking and eats healthy, so his skin looks better.
He's noticed since he gave himself a make-over that he gets a lot more attention from women (a LOT of attention!!). He wants to know why, and he think the girls on YA will have better opinions than me.
So give it your best shot! Basically he wants to know how come he's now considered hot enough for women to drool over.

He's got big green eyes with long lashes.
I don't think I can take any credit, except by feeding him well and encouraging him to stop smoking - he could've stayed the way he looked before as far as I'm concerned. I thought he was adorable then as well!

I bet he has more self confidence now due to his new look. Women notice self confidence and want to be with someone who has it.

It's not that difficult to understand. Women like men who take care of themselves. We're more likely to give a good looking guy with nice hair, skin and clothes a second glance than a guy who wears ratty jeans has bad skin and doesn't groom his facial hair. And major kudos to your guy for giving up the smokes! That takes a lot of willpower, and also will make it so he doesn't have that lingering smell of smoke on him which can be a major turn off to some women.

The depth added by the highlights makes people stop and look. When a guy looks like he cares about his looks -- but doesn't obsess over them -- women notice. The goatee, while a personal preference, is also a sign of a guy who cares about his appearance.
What color are his eyes :) ?
BTW, good job for you on the makeover. Advice: make sure he uses his new found hotness strictly with you!!!!!!

I think personally that someone is more attractive 2 the opposite sex when they can see that they have pride in themselves e.g. the way they look, personal hygiene etc. Confidence also plays a part in this, if the make-over has boosted your b/f's confidence, girls r going 2 be able 2 sense that and he will be allot more appealing 2 the female race

Well it's quite obvious really... girls don't like bad skin... tight black jeans are ugly... scrawny guys aren't preferred over muscular ones usually... it all goes back to biology--the men who appear stronger and healthier are better providers and that is attractive subconsciously and consciously to most women.

it makes an impression..
says something about your personality...
an when a guy is nice an clean with a kool outfit..
it says a lot.
when he dresses and looks like he just stepped outta BUMVILLE he's not eye candy...
or not nice to talk to with somethin good goin on in his life

Sounds like your straightened him out. He sounds like an idiot tho, if he does not appreciate what you did for him.
Mabye this is a one way relationship.
