My husband had 3 stents put in arteries a week ago. He was sent home with about seven prescriptions, but none of them were anti-biotics. He has been running a low grade fever since day two. When we called the cardiologist, he said that we should worry until his fever reached 101.5 and then we should go immediately to the ER. Has anyone else ever experienced this or know anything about it? Also, incredibly after the procedure and even with blood pressure meds, his bottom number is stayng in the 90s?

I agree with Keebler. A low grade fever can be normal after surgery. I would follow your Dr's advice but monitor the fever closely. If it is an infection it could spike very quickly.

Low grade fever may not be a problem but a fever over 101 could mean an infection his body is fighting. I would imagine the stendts and sutures are enough to produce a low grade fever.
