I have a 2.79 and have 2 more full time semesters left at my community college before I transfer to a 4 year college. If I got all A's, or even A's and a couple B's, how long should it take me to bring up my GPA high enough to get into law school? If I can even get it that high again. Thank you for your help.

Grades and LSAT scores are important in law school admissions, but they also look at the overall person in selecting students to attend the law school, too. Selecting who writes your letters of recommendation carefully is important because they give insights into you. Finally, your personal statement gives them an idea of who you are and why are you interested in attending law school. Overall the law schools are really interested in more than just the grades but students who have a passion for law school, too. However, I still recommend getting good grades because some 4 year colleges and universities give merrit financial aid for transfer students. I have included some links for further reading on the subject.

At least one year with all As would get you into the zone, though it is all according to whether or not the school is elite law school, publicly funded, or what. Get the grades up as high as possible and keep them there. Then try for a public-funded college, rather than a higher priced, elite privately run school.

If you made any D's retake them and the best grade will count in the GPA though both will be listed..that will help a LOT..you would be surprised how much..

Do a search for GPA calculator and you will see several sites where you can type in your current GPA and anticipated grades and see how much and how long you can increase your GPA. Good luck!!
