We can think, why recycle, is it to reduce the reliance on landfill, a non problem given the huge quarries in Mendips, Cumbrian fells and Pennines, all rail connected, or is it to reduce the transport environmental costs in transporting material to landfill or is it to reduce he consumption of rescources by reusing the ingredients. To Minimise environmental harm in Country areas we should not recycle, the whole cycle energy cost in terms of oil used by the vehicles compared to the energy and materials recovered is totally mad, well over 100 gallons useed to recover 1 gallon of oil equivalence, in urban areas this can reduce to 5 used to 1 recovered, but this relies on the recyling sites being adjacent to residential areas.
The Environmentalists message should be compress, not recycle, refuse, compress so the vehicles can load to their legal maximum to minimise their mileage,
What happens to recycled materials, glass needs so much energy to remelt and reuse that it is a waste of rescources to reuse it, paper is OK at present, Aluminium and steel are in demand in China, and sending anything to China or buying from China should be a complete no no for anyone with a thought for the environment, so what is left, composting is best done at home not in huge plants such as proposed for Avonmouth which will take materials from 50 miles around, 50 miles and its not rail connected.
Proper recycling should be left for commercial waste such as hardcore and tiimber, Councils should allow builders to dump materials at recycling sites and allow ordinary citizens to scavenge and reclaim and reuse items from it free of charge before sending the residue to landfill, in fact the methane from landfill is probably the best most practical re use of recyclable materials.
Proper environmental awareness should mean avoiding Taxis, they run empty to pick you up and return to base, trains, their payload to deadweight ratio is terrible, and buses as they often run empty at worse passenger mile per gallon ratios than a diesel car. Incidentally the Montego with the Perkins engine is better on fuel consumption than almost anything availible new, the Prius Hybrid avoids smog not saves fuel, oh and removing all catalutic converters would reduce UK motor fuel useage by
some 5% if people chose to save money insted of doing more miles.
Buying quality clothes, and less or them, driving an old diesel car and keeping it going, 60% of the whole life energy cost of the average car is in the manufacturing and delivery to the showroom
and having a family car for holidays etc and a run about for when its just you to minimise fuel burn, and ride a bike, you will die young which will reduce your whole life energy use, smoking ciggies and drinking to excess will also reduce whole life rescource useage as will having few kids late in life as I have or not having kids at all to reduce rescource useage for which the ndividual is responsible.
To sum up "Recycling" is not environmentally friendly and should be discontinued..

I will give you some ideas, of top of my head on bullets,..you can have the pleasure of adding the smart descriptive flunecy to make a paragprah....surely not too hard a thing to do!
Oh yeah.. and add some of your own ideas= orginality and preperation in case teacher ask you to go more in depth. That way you have something to fall back on and can explain, rather than say u asked on the net and some random person has answered..anyways.
Everyday Life- *Use your blue bin, supplied by the council, (and available if you dont already have one) to recycle all paper/ maybe rop hint bout xmas comingup- wrapper?
* Glass and plastic to relevant banks
* in everyday items try and re-use items rather than buying new everytime
*At College- Does this mean switching lights, fans off, not leaving pcs on standby etc?
Thats all can think of.. i neeed context to fully answer the question

Travel in by public transport, on bike or by foot. Save our soda cans for recycling. Seperate our paper waste from our other waste. Keep looking for new ways to recycle.
And to everyone else - why do they have a section called Homework Help if they don't expect people to ask for help with their homework?

You are doing a very good job of recycling other people's ideas, or trying to, at any rate.
Is this the way to progress at college these days?
