Most schools have policies regarding this.
At my school a student may be asked to leave if they have a full semester of F's. They may appeal this or talk to a counselor and get a one more semester to try to improve.
If they get mostly F's but have enough in the way of D's or a C - enough to raise the GPA just enough to a certain level - then they get put on 'Academic Warning' and automatically have an extra semester. You have something like this at Kent State:
http://imagine.kent.edu/policyreg/view.asp?BackURL=/policyreg/search_act.asp?Keyword=academic+probation&DocNo=&DocDate=&Table=Archive&ID=57&strSearch=academic+probation
Here's your policy on suspension and dismissal:
http://imagine.kent.edu/policyreg/view.asp?BackURL=/policyreg/search_act.asp?Keyword=dismissal&DocNo=&DocDate=&Table=Archive&ID=509&strSearch=dismissal
If you REALLY want to go back then you should develop some sort of plan to improve your grades next semester and get in touch with your faculty advisor right away (if you can get them this late) in order to get their support for a possible appeal.

I am not sure about your school, but at McGill, they will not let you graduate if your gpa drops below 2.0. Often, they will suspend you and you will have to plead your case before the dean. However people often have a really bad semester. Sometimes you can get permission to have your grades from one semester entirely annulled. I would suggest talking to a school advisor; they are generally very helpful people (although there are a few bad apples!). They will also know the specifics of your school

You will end up on probation, but not get kicked out. You will have a semester to bring up your GPA. If you do this you should not have a problem, But use the opportunity to figure out what went wrong (e.g. too much beer or too hard) and get support to do things better (e.g. stay out of the bar or get extra help.

Check the school's policy. I went to Miami, and in my early years i let my GPA go to hell. I went on and off probation a couple times, and I did go on academic probation once. I went to another college for a year, worked a little harder, and eventually came back and finished at Miami.

If you fail, you fail. They won't kick you out, per se, as long as you can pay to go there, but you will have to re-take all the failed courses, start over, and pay for them again. Not Smart on your part, kid!
