My boyfriend's mom is leavin his dad and he wants to talk to me about it. I usually know exactly what to say but this is a situation I've never lived through seeing that my parents are happily married. I really want to help him but... what should I tell him? I care about him so much and I hate seeing him upset so if you could help... I'd really really appreciate it. -Lindsay

Listen and support him that is what he needs most at this time. He maay think its his fault which it isnt and be aware the parents may try to use him against each other which is wrong.

there are NO good answers for him, letting him vent is helpful
but not always, if there is no violence invloved in the divorce
make sure to tell him both his parents love him, and also let
him know there is NOTHING he can do to change whats happening
its NEVER the kids fault...

Just listen attentively to what he has to tell you and tell him how much you care about him and want him to feel well.don't advise him to do anything because that will be his decision. and also say thank you for trusting you so much with his very personal matters.

Don't worry so much about what to say but just be there for him. This is going to be a tough time for him and he will need you.
