A historic place, of course, otherwise a rich, indulgent, and typically snobby for it, American suburb (except that like most Boston suburbs compared to other American cities there are more trees and less large tract developments).

Lexington is very nice. Quiet historical town. The taxes are outrageous. The town doesn't offer much. Its a nice place to visit, but if you want to move to the area I would suggest the surrounding towns. Burlington offers a lot and the taxes are low. Woburn, Billerica, Wilmington, Arlington even Bedford would probably be a better choice than Lexington, unless you are looking for some sort of status.

VERY nice. Full of historical sites. Beautiful houses, good neighbohoods and school system, etc. However, it does not have THAT much to do. If you're a younger person looking for a fun city to live in, Lexington wouldn't work. But it's perfect for someone settling down, small families, etc. You can get to other cities, and even down town, pretty quickly if you need to commute for work, etc. It's one of my favorite cities actually!

I lived in Lexington for over 15 years. Love it! There's not much "nightlife", but public transportation is great so you can easily get into Cambridge or Boston for those activities. It's a quiet town, low crime, tons of history and excellent schools. I left Mass. back in 1989 & I miss it.

Yes. It is quiet, convenient, well-wooded, diverse, has great historical significance, and has residents that are mostly well-educated (because they found it convenient to their professional jobs in the area).
