how to tell if my computer have a Hi-Speed or Low-Speed USB dock or port?

If your using XP click >control panel>performance and maintenance>system>Hardware tab>device manager>scroll down to usb and click the + you should see USB 1.5 (slow) or 2.0 (fast) root hub
