I'm apx half way through an arena documentary on the guy and i'm perplexed at to what talent he has? Is he just famous for being out of his own mind?

Like most artists he's misunderstood and his true poetic talent will not be realised whilst he is alive.
Are we forgetting that most of the World famous painters, writers, poets and even psychologists took drugs?
Not in any small amounts either.
Not starting the drug argument tonight peeps, the question was if he has talent, to that I'm answering YES, so don't get it mixed up with his problems.
Time will show this to, history doesn't care if Freud took Coke or Vincent got smashed on Absinthe.
Unfortunately his poetry doesn't sell newspapers half as quick as his mistakes.
Yes he has talent.

The mass media love stories about artists - usually musicians, but can be filmstars, etc - who live tragic lives. They're usually quite talented and touch people with their music (or films, etc) but end up destroying their lives, and creative capacity, with alcohol/drugs/etc.
Now, when the media don't have someone suitable, they pick the closest they can get - the slightly talented Docherty.

Yes! he has a talent for taking Drugs and in my opinion for being an arsehole.
His fame for being out of his own mind is well founded. As i said at the start, DRUGS.

I don't know how much talent he has but hes been in some good bands (the libertines and babyshambles) so he must have a little bit.

He is an example of everything that is wrong with this country, he makes me sick, they should lock him up and throw away the key, and I dont understand why social services arent speaking to Kate Moss for having her child exposed to a known drug addict!!!

He's a total f*ckwit, and don't buy his records because he'll just spend the money on something to stick up his arm.
He's a complete waste of space.

apparently, he is the frontman of "The Babyshambles" but I've never heard of them before, he's just famous for being spaced off his head!

He does have talent, but it's buried by all the drugs he takes.

I saw the doc. I think he's a great songwriter and a great singer. Not so sure about his 'art'. But I do think he's very talented.
