This type of word is called a PALINDROME.
Examples: Dad, mom, noon, radar, kook, deed, refer, boob, toot, sees, level
You also can find sentences that are palidromes.
"Madam, I'm Adam". (Adam's first words to Eve)
"Able was I ere I saw Elba" (Napoleon's take on being exiled to the island of Elba.)
