What's the procedure....such as how many years in school and how many years in residency. Please explain everything.

4 Years of Medical School
2 Years of Residency
1-2 Years if you choose to do a fellowship

3 years Pre-med plus 4 to 6 years meds followed by at least a year of internship. If after all that you still have the cash to specialize, then you are looking at another 4 years. Total looks like 12 to 14 years, a third of your life if you do it straight from high school.
