Nightwish and Trans-siberian's orchestra's secular album, Beethoven's Last Night, are somewhat similar in my opinion with their fantasical-sounding music (as my friend puts it).
Does anyone know of any groups similar to Nightwish and/or that particular album by Trans-siberian Orchestra?

Get some Lacrimosa. If you dig Nightwish, you will ADORE this band. Neo-classical 'goth' band that is totally unlike any other goth band you have ever heard. It isn't about depression, hate and darkness but rather concept albums set in transylvania based on tragic love stories
