I wouldnt bet on that happening. At least your in a country with a good economy though instead of some poor African country where you must work 16 hours a day just to eat. Every person has been screwed to some degree and to wait for justice is futile. Just remember, its not the hand you have been dealt, its how you play the cards that counts!

Oh, my obviously Ivy League educated friend.....please enlighten me? WTF is a RESPARATION? I know us African-Americans haven't gotten our REPARATIONS. But RESPARATIONS? Are we promised that too? If you're going to ask an asinine question (dumb for my non Ivy League friends-said with the utmost of sarcasm), at least get the grammar, spelling, and context correct.
Now to actually answer your question. Not all African-Americans in the US are descended from slaves. The research to find out which families are and aren't is almost next to impossible to complete. Lots of written history was lost in regards to slaves in America. People were considered property and was noted as such, therefore any records that are kept, aren't going to be very detailed. Many slaves, when they were brought here were given their owner's last name. And those that were free, usually kept their owner's last name because that's all they knew. When a slave went from one owner to another, the last name changed, so research is extremely difficult.
As far as the government is concerned, us African-Americans will get our 40 acres and a mule, when the Native Americans get their land back. Which means, no one is getting anything.

Not going to I am a 25 percent cherokee indian and have been promised this same thing for over 200 years. It Ain't going to happen. One of those too good to be true moments. And - there is not a single black alive today who was a slave so there is no one to get 40 acres and a mule left.

I do have an ancestor who was a slave until 1938 from a southern owner who held her and her family hostage, she is now 101. She or any of us will never see any acres or land coming from the government it was all a bunch of lies. Almost like there will never be a black president of the United States in my lifetime or my nieces or their children's lifetime. This country is too immature. So do not count on it. Okay.

African Americans have been given reparations. We lowered profesional and academic standards for them. African Americans can attend schools and get jobs that they would be unqualified for if they had white skin.
