I very much think - that something wonderful could happen :-)
to move from the "just friends" to the physical is the toughest part, possibly - you are both fearful of the same thing... relax, it will hopefully just happen one day :-)
I wish you great happiness and long life together

In answer to your main question, yes, friendship can turn into love. Please be sure that you are heading for this with your friend and he just does not give into you from sympathy, because you know at the moment he is trying to console your pains by taking you out a few times and being nice to you. You will know it is turning into love when there is a spark in his eyes in the way he looks at you prolonged and holds your hands that has nothing to do with feeling for a sister.

I think that it might seem a little weird for the both of you as you have known each other for so long and have got on as friends only. But, by all means go for it and enjoy yourselves you might just get over the awkwardness of the situation and become more than friends with him.

Absolutely! What could be better than a relationship with a man who knows you inside out, likes you (faults and all), has seen you looking your absolute worst and is still around? My boyfriend and I were friends for a year before we got together and now, 4 years later, have just moved in together.

Yes, friendship can and does sometimes turn to love, but if you're feeling your friend likes you as a good friend and like you're a sister to him, then romance may not come of it.

Its possible, but maybe he wants to remain friends b/c as soon as you two take it to the next level things may go wrong and not only ruin the new relationship but the old one as well, stick to being friends and see where it takes u don't push anything though.

I would allow the friendship to flourish for 6 months, and then see what happens. if love is the result then enjoy.
my case is different

alot of freindships turn into love but really give it time do not think about it now. see how is goes and every once and a while go for something and see how he responds. let time take its course

It sure can, but it probly won't turn into love if you have only known the person for a few days, but for you I think he loves you back.
