i purchased a 10 gallon tank with all the filters and stuff cycled it for ablut 4 weeks with 5 guppies with some fast cycling chem.the ammonia is a little gittery but its getting better each week i do a water change about every 2 days of 20% to keep then happy,wnen that settled twice a week is all i did.the guppies did great no losses,but i decided to go with chicilids becaust the were more interesting in the store.got an oscar and it hurt 2 killed 1 in 2 days. i moved them out to another tank of my friends.the lone killer oscar is all i got now. i know i messed up big time and i want to go back to the community tank.i cant put it in a smaller tank because it gets 15 inches long.what to do now?

Talk to your local pet store as often they will take unwanted fish. Many will give you a store credit in exchange for the fish.

Find a display in a pet store and ask if they will keep him in that. That's what I did with my ID sharks when they grew too big for my tank.

Your local pet store will take him if you donate the fish. I did that once with an albino catfish. They were thrilled to get it.

see if the pet store will buy back your Oscar,
my friend would sell back his Oscars when they became too big for the tank

Cut your losses!! Give that fish away, or trade it!! If you don't have friends with fish, there are plenty of fish clubs out there!

try your local 'freecycle' organisation and give it away.
