In all of the years I have watched soccer and supported gli Azzurri, I have never been so apathetic to their winning as in this years WCup. A phantom penalty given to Italy against the Australians on a shameful dive was putrid. The Italy team of Paolo Rossi, Baggio or even of the 70s with Riva, Benetti and so on would never have put up such a disgraceful display.
To top it off Materazzi keels over like a baby and no teammate steps up to defend him. Chicken $hits all around. A shame.
I will cheer per gli Azzurri whenever they will return to playing soccer - win or lose.

Italy is the greatest soccer playing nation of all time. No matter what they do there are pin heads who think they are cheaters. Like they are the only nation that dives in a game. I can only image if an Italian player head butted a player form an other team. They would have been no excuse. So suck it up people Italia 4 time World Cup Champ. Forza ITALIA

I think they have Greg Louganis (olympic diving champion) as there coach.
The fact that they won the world cup is a blight on the beautiful game.
Totti is the most disgraceful soccer player in the world.
