the only place that i can conceive an answer is to start with the earth and the moon. they both seem to have gravity as displayed by the moon and earths tides. the earths tides are in conjunction with the different stages of the moon which lead me to believe that the moons presence dictates the tides.
your body is approx. 86% water. thus when there is a full moon the human race experiences odd happenings and unexplained energy. when the moon has wained to its least then the human race seems to experience lack of energy and thus adverse disposition.
now we look at the rest of the planets in the galaxy. the earth is the 3rd rock from the sun and is small in comparison to the rest of the galaxy. if they all have gravitational pull then imagine what kind of effect Jupiter has on our bodies thus our lives.
your personal horoscope is dictated by the position of the planets in the universe at your exact time of birth and location. the accuracy has been studied by learned men for ions.
when Christ was born a star appeared in the sky that had never been there before alerting wise men possibly astronomers of that time to a great happening which prompted them to travel.
if you care for a professional outlook then i urge you to approach an astronomer or an accomplished astrologer.

Does it matter if it's "real"? I mean, is it any less real than an omnipotent Abramatic God who has a "divine plan"? Is it any less real than an Eight-fold Path to Nirvana? Any less real than a Confucian "Golden Mean"?
What you should be asking is, "what does it have to offer that might prove to have a practical application?".
First thing to know: there are events, opportunities, failures, successes, people and things that will enter and leave our lives, and to a large extent, many of these operate beyond the realm of your egoistic ability to control them.
Philispohic, religous and spiritual frameworks offer you methods where you can re-tune your awareness to accept what you cannot control and allow you to recognize the opportunities, blessings, and challenges in your life so that you might deal with them more effectively.
Have you ever noticed that right after you buy a new model car, it suddenly seems there are people everywhere driving the same model of car? Your awareness can be directed. That's what spirituality and philosophy are good for:)

The truth is we don't really know if its real. Some people are really into it and study its history and what not but as for "us" we just look for a source to tell us something in a time of need or look to it for answers when there is nothing else and if its on point we keep going back for more, we believe that that answer is the one, but no one really knows!

How can you prove god exists? How do you prove the existence of love? How do you prove something you have never seen exists? Do me a favor. Take a look at someone sun sign and moon sign..check many peoples. Now watch their behavior and see if they conform to their astrological sign. I've been doing this for a while now, and you know what? I keep seeing the traits spoken to in the zodiac in the people I know. In fact, I always find out someones sign when I do dealings with them and just by knowing it, it helps me tremendously when I interact with them.

The Tibetans live their lives by astrology, I believe it to be true, I have done my homework on this. I can't prove it, it just exists - like life.

it is very hard to prove that it is real. some parts of it are and some of it are not. it depends on the person if they believe it or not.

it's neither real nor false until it can be proven either way. belief does not constitute factual evidence. it's simply that - belief.
