the country that we live in name is Guyana well the take about 11/2 year to give you a visa for the united states of america so i will like to know why the are taking so long if there is anything you can do to get it quicker

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm in Canada and I'm getting a Fiance Visa to move to the USA to marry my fiance. It takes time, but because the US Immigration has more to deal with as far as illegal immigrants living there, the process is going to take a bit longer. All the illegals that dont have a criminal record are filing for citizenship now, so things will take longer for us, who want to live there and are doing it the legal way. Because they have to check your background. A lot of people will go to nations like the US, Japan and many western European nations under a tourist Visa and end up staying them for a long period of time working illegally or worst, commiting crime.

Took me 4 months to get a B1/B2 visa for the US but that wasn't a long wait for me. I was willing to wait.
