I have heard that if someone whom has gone to the work of collecting, cleaning, washing and properly bagging returnable Containers with the Maine Stete Returnable Print on it may not return them if they are from out of State.
I am wondering if this is true and if so why?

It seems that if someone is truly trying to help Save Our Planet and has collected the Containers they should not be Penalized for being from Out Of State and I am Certain that the person would most likely spend their money at least some of it in Maine itself.
Please Advise, Thanks!

If you are in Maine and you try to return bottles that were sold outside of Maine, you are breaking the law. This is because you are costing the local distributor money. You are asking the local distributor to give you 5 cents -- 5 cents you never paid the local distributor in the first place.
