My friend, I think there are no "five" ways to make a drawing more realistic; art is no that simple and there are no recipes... but I'll give you just some tips.
Pay attention to the light, is very important to observe carefully from where the ligth come from.
Remenber more close the figure are from you more sharp and clear most to be the image, background can be difuse,
Try to make the perspective as close you can from the real model, no only architecture have a perpective, even in a human body, for example, you can use the perspective.
There are much more but the most important thing to became a good drafter is do no stop to draw... draw from a natural model help a lot to educate the hand, the eye and the brain, yo can swicht this with a more free drawing or make a combination of both.

1. Get the drawing accurate, first.
2. Add shadows.
3. Add details.
4. Add shadows within the shadows.
5. Put it away for awhile and come back and compare it to the object you drew and ask, "What's missing?" When you get your answer, add it!

In order to gain depth in a drawing, make sure you use overlapping objects, aerial perspective, blended shading, texture, and lots of details.
