Ok - i am 23wks pregnant and have had no problems so far (apart from the normal pregnancy ailments!).

I have felt baby moving around alot over the past few weeks - morning, noon and night.

Yesterday i only felt baby move in the afternoon - not as active as usual. So far today i have felt baby move around a little this morning but again, not as active as usual.

I think i am getting the flu so i'm like a zombie at the moment - i don't know if this is relevant but thought it worth the mention.

Anyhow - my question is, at 23wks do i worry if there is a change in baby's movement patterns? I know it would be cause of concern later in the pregnancy, but i also know some women have only just started feeling there baby move so perhaps its too early for me to worry about a variation to baby's movements?

Thanks all.

P.S - my next doctors appointment isn't until 8th Jan.

Don't worry about it it is perfectly normal. All three of mine had very odd movements during the pregnancy. One month they wouldn't keep still and the next hardly anything at all. All three of my girls are healthy so I wouldn't freak out just yet. If you are really concerned just mention it at your next appointment.

At 23 weeks the movement that you feel is likely to be sporatic and you might not be able to figure out a pattern yet. I would tell your ob but I wouldn't stress about it. I didn't see a pattern to my baby's movement until much later...and I would worry about it constantly. So much depends on the baby's position, what you have eaten or drank, and how you feel. Many babies are lulled by your movement, so if you've had a busy day you may find you feel your baby less.
At one point, I actually ended up in labor and delivery when I was concerned....only to have her start kicking and fussing when I got there...but this was at 32 weeks as opposed to the 23 that you're on.
You should feel some movement every day. Try not to worry, but as things progress try to figure out what makes your baby "tick" (like sugar or an ice cold drink). Then if you do worry you can try to get her to move and ease your mind.

I was always told that you should feel at least 10 movements every hour...as you can see, everyone has a different opinion and gets told different things. Also, all baby's move differently. Mine all did. I think the biggest thing is what is normal for YOU and your baby. At 23 weeks, your baby is still pretty small, and you may just not be feeling the movements due to postioning. BUT, if you are concerned, or it seems to you that your baby is moving less than usual, go get checked out. It is always better to be safe, and know that everything is o.k. They give you kick count guidelines for a reason. HTH :-)

we've a one week previous toddler, and are making use of the Angelcare computer screen. it particularly is our first toddler and that i became apprehensive that i would stay unsleeping for checking his respiration each and all of the time it relatively is why we've been given it. it particularly is spectacular. besides the very incontrovertible fact that he sleeps in our room so we would not want a standard noise computer screen the circulate sensor is quite reassuring and you would be able to set the reveal to easily a seen of a pendulum swinging to advise he continues to be respiration. It means once I wake fairly than sitting up and observing him or touching him and annoying him, one look on the computer screen tells me he's wonderful and that i will circulate back to sleep. we've no longer had any fake alarms and the only time it has long gone off is whilst we've forgotten it particularly is on and added the toddler out of the crib! They artwork with a sensor pad placed decrease than the mattress which sends information to a computer screen you have with you - it will make bleeps / clicks to reassure you he's respiration or in simple terms set off off an alarm if he stopped. i could advise one. even nonetheless, become familiar with it previously your toddler comes - we did no longer and it became no longer ordinary determining each and all of the needs (there are a number of and the handbook isn't too sparkling) once you're sleep deprived and busy! good luck with the toddler.

My babies all moved different. One was very jumpy and always twisting. I kind of expected her to be a Cirque DE Soliel person.(sp) But anyway, I found that what I ate had a lot to do with how they moved, and also my emotional state. I am sure that yours is fine.

Congratulations.

You should feel at LEAST 10 movements in a 24-hour period. If you're anxious and concerned.....make your Dr. check you before your scheduled appt.
