should people boycott thomson holidays in protest at their laying off 500 staff in glasgow, and a further 2600 to follow this year?

No, but you should DEFINATELY boycott them for being the worst tour operator in existence.

Would be almost impossible to boycott. They are owned by TUI who are simply enormous! It's a shame they are laying people off but in the grand scheme of things they are a one of the biggest employers in the travel industry (not just in the UK but in Europe and probably worldwide).

Yeah, that advert is ironic, I can't see any mention of job cuts in that advert. Strange. I doubt whether people will boycott them, after the way British airways treated their staff last summer resulting in the strikes and flight cancellation, people still went back to them.

Thomson ain't cheap, you can build your own holiday much cheaper with a little patience using the web!

By boycotting the company the remaining workers' jobs will be at risk (if nobody is travelling with the company, what do they need a workforce for?). Personally, I think that boycotting would be counter-productive.
