Long Time Dead (stax of smoke breaks and coffee breaks required!)
Silence of the Lambs (Excellent!)
The Hills have Eyes (Really Good!)
The Hostel (Excellent)
The Shining (Classic Horror)
The Mummy (Scared the pants off me at the time)
The Exorcist (Of course)
The Omen 1 2 & 3 (Strange things happened after seeing this movie)
Aubrey Rose
(Sorry folks but The Grudge, The Ring and Saw for me were too corny)

you should watch the Japanese version of some of the recent hollywood remakes, the remakes are just not scary, but the japs know how to scare!!!
the ring series
the 2 grudges
the eye
dark waters
tale of 2 sisters (which is Korean)
there is an old movie called Event horizon which really rattled my cage when i was younger.
ohhh and i agree with Dragonfly Long time dead is an excellent under rated British film.

Nick B. has a great list in terms of quality films, but I'd like to add 'What Lies Beneath'. It's not a great movie, but has one excellent scare near the end involving a bath tub.. you WILL jump more than you ever have before.
