I don't think any cell phone is a good gift for a 12 year old. Perhaps....MAYBE....a pay-as-you-go type, but I still think it's too young, no matter how great her grades are.

The chocolate phones are awsome, however a 12 year old is too young for a cell phone like that try the 2 or 3 that only allow your child to call or receive a few numbers (parent contact #) and you can also track them on line, I do think these are a good option to keep your children safe in this day and age

If you mean a real cell phone, no.
You don't want to buy a 12 year old a cell phone.
Just think of it this way, the text/pic messages alone will probably cost more than the bill, everyone over uses those features. Also unless you buy an expensive plan she will probably go over her minutes, and every minute over is roughly $0.25.

If she is doing really good with her grades and is not asking for a mobile, I would avoid buying her one otherwise she may get distracted a lot with it. If, however, she is expecting one then the chocolate would be too advanced for her, I would suggest Nokia 3510i or something without the advance features. Perhaps, you could get her an ipod or something like that.

i think she might be a little old for a chocolate cell phone(if its edible)
if its a real one then i say go ahead. this way if she is out with her friends and you don't know where she is, you can just call her. its a safe way to go by in this world.

Anyone can get A's when they're twelve. It's more important you don't spoil her imo.
