for a girl it's 5'2
for a boy it's 5'7

There is a very wide range of average for a 9th grade boy.
Some may only be 5'2", while others may be close to 6'. Depends on when the growth spurt hits. I teach 9th grade, and most of my boys are around 5'4" or so at the start of the school year, and are often 2-3 inches taller by the end.

freshman year i was pretty short, around 5'2-5'3. some guys were taller, some the same. not many were shorter than me. now im a senior and im 5'11 so it just depends on your body and growth spurts

i'm 5'6''....i don't know if that is average but almost ever girl at my school is about 4'' shorter than me...
